So hereās the rub on the new GW - if you want to make it through the walk through and check list before the dealer closes - donāt show up at 4:30 š. Being that weāre literally having a baby any day, I get tired way more easily than normal so this process might not take you as long, but still be prepared to being thorough.
We showed up with all of our paperwork and it still took 5 hours to go over everything!
@Domshome knows what Iām talking about if he shut down his dealer too!!
I confirmed every TSB, recall and such were handled. Then did the exterior and interior walk throughs. This took about 2 to 3 hours to complete. Of note - itās illegal for them to let a car off the lot without any of these things resolved - at least thatās what I was told when I presented the list of updates!
Then we completed the sale - I used my FCA affiliate pricing. I had the luxury of my company being in the program AND being tread lightly member. You only get to use 1 code but there was no denying my discount. For those out there with a code but dealers pushing back (mine did originally when I ordered), bring a print out of the screen that shows how many vehicles your dealer has sold through the program. I printed this screen to prove they hadnāt stopped participating in the program, as they had told me in December. I also had my $1500 rebate printed out from the GW webpage - but they applied this automatically. Finally, the packages changed slightly and this is how they justify the change in sticker pricing. We ordered a GW S1 with bench seat, convenience group and 22ā wheels. Total was $96210. The sticker says $98250 ish. The changes come from adding the Fam Cam into the convenience group (maybe one other item there too), the bench seat is now a option you pay for rather than no charge, and wheels and paint went up as well. My dealership honored my build price and took my affiliate discount and rebate off that price. All I did was ask and they took the $2k in upcharges off.
Post paperwork it was another almost 2 hours of going through car set up, learning the assisted park system, and setting up the app. These vehicles have A TON! Iām not used to this much tech so Iām either going to continue down the path to have things 100% dialed in for me, or Iāll get close and just give up because there are almost too many customizations š
good luck out there everyone and I hope these trains start moving a little quicker!
