Anyone else had the engine making a clicking noise? Second time in two months that it has made the noise and now back in the shop.
Which Wagoneer do you have, when did you get it, when was it built? Have you determined if all the TSBs and CSBs have been done to it?Anyone else had the engine making a clicking noise? Second time in two months that it has made the noise and now back in the shop.
Minor update, WCS wouldn't help us change the loaner car. We called today, but said we had to wait until Monday for our rep to return to the office LOL. What a joke
Forgot to mention that this is apparently a known issue as there is an alert to the dealers that this may be happening. The service tech mentioned this to us.Apparently our Wagoneer needs a new engine. The cam shaft is wearing down too fast and shearing metal into the engine. WCS again didn't call us back to sort out a loaner after we chased them today, so we had had enough and traded the Wagoneer today for an Expedition. The dealer can sell it once they replace the engine. So happy to be out of Wagoneer stress and unhelpful WCS. Good luck everyone!
There were some rumblings about the 5.7L engine and the Torque system causing problems late last year (some on this forum). I hadn't seen any with such drastic results. Did you ever look in the Driver doorway and see the 'born on' date? It would be interesting to know when it was built vs. the alert date. So sorry to see the issue, good for you in taking a path that reduces your stress. It's always different for everyone's situation. Best to you, stay safe!Forgot to mention that this is apparently a known issue as there is an alert to the dealers that this may be happening. The service tech mentioned this to us.
