This is very interesting. I wonder how this will play out for those of us who have already ordered but are awaiting production. I would think we'd all be good; I believe the powertrain and options are already tied to the VIN when assigned and locked in but who knows these days.
My Grand Wagoneer is replacing my Ram 1500 Limited. It was between the Lincoln Navigator and Grand Wagoneer for me and one of the big reasons I went with the latter was because of the 6.4L Hemi V8. All the turbos in the world don't replace the sound of a meaty V8 - plus I tow quite a bit and really would prefer a big, naturally aspirated engine. Besides, they aren't even announcing any specs on the I6 until the New York Auto Show which isn't until mid-April. Are we supposed to blindly be okay ordering with no details?
It's comical to me when people whine about the fuel economy of the 6.4L Hemi. I'm spending $110k on a vehicle, in no world am I losing sleep over 14 MPG versus 18 MPG versus 20 MPG, etc. I'd argue the big V8 will produce more SMILES per gallon than the others 😉
