Width with driver's side mirror retracted.

Hi all, I think there has been one similar threat but it doesn't address my issue. I really want a Wagoneer. I have a one-car garage. It is 91" wide. I *think* I read the width of the Wagoner is 93". What I can't find is how wide it is if I were to manually retract just the driver's side mirror, then if it would fit. Help! Thanks....

Thanks for the replies. I did see those threads. The specs given via those threads don't answer my question. I have the full width of the Wagoneer with Mirror, and I have the width without mirrors (even that doesn't say if its the entire mirror assembly, or just the mirror itself retracting but the stem attached to the vehicle stays. Nonetheless, my question is the width of the vehicle with only one of the mirrors pulled in. If I pull up to my garage, stick my hand out the window and manually pull in just the driver's mirror (not both), then what is the width? This will tell me if I can get into my garage. Hopefully someone knows.....thx!

I just found this link for vehicle shipping dimensions. Page 40 lists Grand Wagoneer but couldn’t find the Wagoneer in the link. Assuming all things the same you might be in luck by millimeters 🥴https://gsp.extra.chrysler.com/qlty/vsm/pdf/MASTER Loading Sheets - 11072021.pdf

Hey @Uscla81. Based on the great post by @Domshome, the folding of one mirror gives you ~1 inch of clearance with one folded mirror. 😬

Just measured our Wagoneer Series III with the driver's mirror folded. It is 90.5 inches wide (used a plumb bob to mark the driveway at the widest points on each mirror).

Thanks all a lot! So now I gotta decide if I park outside, or try to enter with 1/2" on each side....I can park the Grand Cherokee L in there, carefully, with about 2" clearance on each side, which is more than enough....

Just to make sure, you said 1" clearance. Is that a grand total (1/2" each side), or 1" each side. Two jeep dealers are telling me 89", which gives me 1" each side if they are correct. I really want to bring one home and test, but I live 25 miles from the dealer. The said the GM drives one and they might let me have it overnight. I've been a customer of theirs for 15 yrs. Hoping they let me try.

That's 1/2 inch each side max, total 1 inch. Also note @COWagoneerSIII said they used a plum line and it was only 1/4" each side! Best way to find out, use the Dealer's test drive and see if you can do it. If you end up feeling nervous about scratching their demo and having to pay to fix it, might be too tight. ;)

I hope it works out, great vehicle!

Im not afraid of scratching their demo, I wouldn't pull in all the way if I knew that was going to happen. The problem is I live 30 miles from the nearest jeep dealer (and they're a good one). I haven't asked but I seriously doubt they will let me take it for a 60 mile round trip test.....

Yes, that's just a smidge beyond an extended test drive. The Grand Wagoneer has Auto Power-Folding Mirrors, and they just released the ability to order the Series I. A closer price point to the Wagoneer, has a few features that are only on GW (like the mirrors), might be worth a look. It gives that extra room on each side and you get the vehicle you want, with no worries about parking it in your garage!

Not to mention it takes you to that gas guzzling 9mpg 6.4L 😂😂.

I was worried mine wouldn't fit in my standard bay garage. It does - with inches to spare with mirrors OUT.. I've got markers in the garage when backing in and don't even need to worry anymore - knowing I'll clear the mirrors with about a full 1.5" on each side. The rear and front have about less than a foot clearance.

Heya Doc, when you say "inches to spare without mirrors,"., does that mean with both mirrors retracted inward? If so, do you get out of your Jeep and retract the passenger side mirror inward each time you want to go in your garage? I know mine will fit with both mirrors pulled in. The issue is when only the driver's side is retracted inward. My single-car garage is exactly 91" wide at the opening.

All I will add is that the replacement cost for just the mirror housing is about $1k. I hit the garage just right and cracked the housing on mine.

That's no good. Sorry to hear that. I wonder if the power fold mirrors can be a mod (since you need to replace at least one part anyway). On the HD Ram trucks there are many mods/upgrades that can be accomplished by swapping out upgraded parts and programming/updating settings via AlphaOBD.
