Trailer brake lights not working

Hello, I have a 2022 Wagoneer and discovered the trailer brake lights don’t work. Hook the trailer to another vehicle, and they work. Anybody else have this issue? Same symptoms when using the 4-pin or 7-pin connector.

Check you fuses. I had an issue like this with my truck before. There is a 20amp fuse (I believe) that made it appear as though there was something not connected. I replaced it and everything was fine. The original fuse did not even look bad but it was.

When I had my 6x9 trailer, a trailer mechanic gave me some advice on the electrical connector (female part) connected to the trailer. Give it a shot of WD-40, wait a few minutes, then drain and wipe. It removes spider webs and cleans those contacts to make a better connection to the vehicle. When I didn't do it, the running lights wouldn't come on. When I did it BINGO, I had lights on the trailer.

Was a module that was bad in the truck. Voltage was not going to the plug when you hit the brakes. I’ll let you know more details when I take it back in For the fix.
