After 2200 basically trouble free (mechanically) miles I got the 4wd lock up today. Played with it and got the warnings to go away but it stayed in 4wd. Crazy how something can work so well for six weeks and then suddenly quit. My dealer was very responsive and picked it up immediately and gave me a loaner. This is very disappointing. I am so pleased with the road performance of this car but really disgusted with the electronics. Hopefully, everything can be remedied.

I'm hoping all of the scheduled updates will help with the consistency of the U Connect system. My Nav/Weather will work great for 3 days and then not work for three days. CarPlay will hook right up and work for 3 days and then be glitchy for a couple. The rear screens are always on and one of them flashes. When on high the seat heaters turn off. There probably should have been a lot more testing before these got released to the general public.

@Newwagon this happened to me this week. The dealer responded (with technician) to my house. They cleared the codes immediately; did a cycle from 4l to auto and it "unlocked" the 4wd. Here's a copy of the ticket. A "TSB and programming push is pending" -

I'm saying OTA - but then again.......
I keep a VERY close eye on updates and OTA's - will post if I hear anything different.

I’ve only got 460 trouble free miles on my GWSIII but reading your notes is preparing me for a trip to the dealer or OTA updates.

This was really the first mechanical problem I have encounter. Everything else has been electronics related. These are really minor compared to lifters and serious mechanical problems that other manufacturers are having. I have owned many American and German SUV's over the last 30 years and this definitely has the smoothest and most quiet ride of any of them. I was initially discouraged with all of the electronic glitches in a vehicle in this price range but my dealer has been working hard and I'm sure we'll all have a great car in the near future.

here in the forums. Every now and again you see a post on here and/or FB Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer group that alerts to an OTA push.

Does the GW have built-in wifi and/or 4G? Or does it tether from your cell phone to get updates. If if has 4G can it act as a hotspot and most importantly is it free?

The GW has built-in wifi. It is subscription based and to the best of my knowledge not required for updates.
