Air suspension motor grinding when lowering

So last night the air suspension on our W3 starting acting odd. For instance the indicators would still show it was lowering when in reality it was no longer moving. Or, it would make a strange sound when adjusting height and the adjustment seemed a bit erratic. This morning I lowered it to exit height from Offroad 2 and the motor (I assume it's a motor) was grinding terribly. Did this a couple of times then it stopped grinding. That doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy about the longevity of the air suspension. And I was really hoping the only gremlin I had left was uconnect. Grrrr....

Here in the Mid-Atlantic - its been REALLY frigid/cold. I've noted the sounds of lowering while in garage when I exit vehicle and go inside. I asked dealer if this is something that needs to be reviewed/looked at - and they said its normal. HOWEVER, I wholly encourage you to raise it when in the service lane next - if nothing else - to have it documented as a concern.

@Randyv Did this ever get resolved? We have another member who is hearing clicking noises that started after using the Air Suspension.

I'm not having clicking noises, but my gw does not seem to go as low as it should. The lowest it goes is the 2nd lowest. The indicator will say it is all the way down but it doesn't actually move lower.

No - the dealer said they couldn't duplicate it. I too, have the clicking noises when I park and get out. I notice it mostly when I park in the garage. Likely because of the acoustics.

Interesting, wonder if others have it but aren't hearing it with other things happening.

Hey @DocSkip have you heard of any issue like this one on any other forum?

the vehicle needs to be rolling slightly when lowering to aero I know this, not just raising or lowering just sitting, the wheels/tires need to "slide" slightly on pavement, in the shop with painted floor it "speaks" when lowering the vehicle.
