im still on the fence re: ceramic. I’m guessing you guys don’t run it through automatic car washes…
I like it, keeps the time to wash this huge beast a lot shorter. I use the Ceramic Pro cleaner and a plush microfiber cloth rags, and done in a few minutes with all but the roof. That, well, let's say my step ladder is getting a lot more use as I'm only 5' 10". And can't go through regular car washes, but Touchless can be done on occasion. The Gold and Platinum Ceramic Pro package requires once a year visits for inspection and any kind of touch up (like getting hit with lots of rocks) to ensure your vehicle coating remains intact/properly working. It isn't an armor plating, but so far it's been a dream for bugs, road spray, etc.
I have gone through touchless car washes after being on dirt/mud roads recently. Didn't take pictures of what stayed on, I'll remember next mud trip. I just know what my prior vehicle looked like going through the same places, interesting to have a brownish red SUV turn back into Platinum Grey in one wash cycle. 😅 Just have to choose a place that is OK with mud vehicles going through, they do a number on the recycling of the water, filters, etc. I can say I had some mud in that fake hood grill up near the windshield, which is why I just went through the wash. Worked well, just have that nagging residual water issue in the side windows and liftgate. I have to get out my leaf blower when I get home and drive that water out of the window areas or the slow dripping of the water down the sides/back seems to cling to dust that is in the air and can settle on all vehicles anywhere. Again, it comes off extremely easy/fast with just the CP cleaner sprayed on the rag and a very gentle wipe (I worry about micro scratches so trust me, it's light).
The key is to wait until it hardens completely at about 4-6 weeks. Not a primary recommendation but it can be used since cleaning out the tread on tires can be 'fun'. They don't get the treatment, but the wheels did and they look like day one. I also like the full front PPF, used Xpel for that, and it hangs tough too on top of the CP coating. Again, waiting a month or more before trying a pressure wash situation.
We all love our different routines for cleaning our vehicles, so it's a personal choice. I got extremely fortunate in the pricing and work done on mine. I got the platinum CP package for almost half of the typically advertised Gold package price. Then added some for the full PPF and window tint on all but the windshield, it was only a bit above the price of the Gold package! Company had moved to a different suburb and was building up new clients in a larger location (the shop was and still is VERY busy). Happy to recommend them via DM to anyone in the Mid-Atlantic area.
Bottom line on this huge novel, I like it so far, will do it again on all my vehicles I purchase, especially for my wife's vehicle.
