break in milage?

Wife saw the section in the owners manual about driving “sparingly” for 100 miles..then not sustained speeds for long amounts of time…Hmmm

We were wanting to take a trip involving 8-10 hours in the road next week and we have only 117 miles on our Wagoneer. We totally love this vehicle. For the most part..Jeep got it right. Any input about the “sustained speed” issue?

I asked about engine break in when I bought my Wrangler Rubicon 392 and was told that modern computer controlled engines handle most of that for you. I'd avoid trying to rev super high on purpose, but other than that just drive it normally and you should be fine.

Drive it like you want to.... Just don't be racing it or towing max capacity.

I had a GT-R a few years ago. There was a forum topic on break in and several techs said that they actually had less problems with cars that did not follow break in procedures. They also said the factory drives the piss out of them before being cleared for shipment. I know this isn’t a GT-R but…
