I started to browse for some new shoes for Patty just in case. A week or so ago, it was raining hard here. So I let her loose on the highway, and at around 70ish, I started to feel hydroplaning on the front tires. So I backed off on speed and settled in at 55mph—no problems afterward in driving. Now I know what to expect when it is pouring outside.
On my former truck no problems with hydroplaning even at 75mph. It was never a problem getting out or driving around when we got snow or blizzard conditions.
I know this is different from my truck, so I'll test her (Patty) out in winter for snow traction at the Mall parking lot.;)
The mall kops. Daddy, He's at it again. That's some bum...:ROFLMAO:

Did they give you the Goodyear Eagles or what for shoes? I've been planning on burning them up, I mean putting on new tires, Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 when they 'wear' out. Better than Michlin, and I didn't think I'd say that as I've been loyal to them for a long time. Pirelli made my QX80 ride like a champ, handle wet/snow/dirt roads just fine. Never had to do trail driving so don't know I'd want them for that serious style offroad but all the rest have been smooth. Feels like it is riding on rails too, super handling.

Oh, and for that mall kop, I think it's just a simple thing.... a failure to communicate. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

The factory-installed Goodyear Eagle Touring - vibrations, potholes, and unevenness in the roadway handled well, and road noise is also good. But for wet weather? Ahhhh... They are good. Now the Pirelli Scorpion tire is really nice. I like them also.

Typical Eagles then, made for Vette's which never see a drop of rain. OK enough to get you home if you slow down, but not really an all weather shoe. I have been using the Verde Plus II but the latest seems to be the Scorpion AS Plus 3 on Tire Rack as a better reviewed tire. Who knows, probably be on version 5 by the time I get my GWIII. 😏

I received my long awaited update. Like yours, @Costa, mine was not signed and I was also in the CC. Mine was verbatim to yours.
Good Afternoon,

At this time, your vehicle is still approved for shipment, we are just waiting to finalize the final steps needed to get your vehicle to your ordering dealership. Once everything is scheduled, I will be provided with estimated arrival dates. I apologize about the delay, I will continue to monitor your vehicle for any change in status.

Best Regards

@Costa I looked the OEM Eagles up on TireRack. Can’t unsee these reviews - yikes. Here are the Pirellis for comparison. Thinking about ordering a set. Since I run winters I may grab a set of summer tires instead.

Yeah, I like all the inputs they check and people are willing to provide for their experiences. Even break it out by vehicle if enough people submit experience info. My in-laws have all switched over to Pirelli over the last few years from Michlin, etc. Pricing is much better than it had been and the tire performance seems to really outshine most others.

Sell you my 'summer' tires when my GW arrives... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Hi, anyone ever see or find out what the following Build codes may stand for? I saw them on the Dealer's screen:

KZS
KZP
KZWK

We have the other codes posted already in this thread, these are the mystery ones currently. :)

I think KZP means the shipper has the vehicle and KZS is a rail stop code, like when it reaches a second or third train stop along the way; could mean you finally have some movement. Can't find anything about the elusive KZWK.

So glad you all brought tires up, by the way. I called and talked to the parts guy at the dealer and asked for his thoughts and what he might recommend. When I told him it's a GWIII he immediately responded "the Goodyear Eagles are absolute garbage and Jeep should be ashamed to put them on such a nice vehicle." LOL tell me how you really feel. He recommended the Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3s, which are the ones I was leaning towards. I ordered a set and they'll be there tomorrow. If only the car itself would be there tomorrow...

Interesting on the codes, and I wish that is what I was told. I actually was given a screenshot of the code for mine when it hit (and hasn't moved) the KZLD status. Other orders had those codes, and since the Salesman hadn't hovered over them, the pop up wasn't showing what they meant.

Nice move on the shoes! Can't wait to hear you have them on the GW! I think I'll see if I can work with the dealership to get them put on my vehicle when it arrives in place of the Goodyear Beagles (sorry, it's an insult to Beagles actually). That may be a barter opportunity, since orders aren't qualifying for the 2k incentive. Also good to know your Parts guy also recommended them, along with the Tire Rack ratiings that sure makes a lot of sense.

I agree on the manufacturing use of GY. Strange too, since Stellantis has Maserati and Alpha, you'd think they would try to properly match tires (from Italy no less) with the vehicle for best overall performance. Even more when it is a first year, grab market share scenario like this one. They went the extra on offering rims that help reduce road noise, why not the last step and get tires to do the same?

I checked back with my dealership and mine is still KZLD. I ordered a loaded Black SIII and the dealership just got an exact build but Baltic Gray with rear entertainment on the lot that had a window sticker 8 days older than mine. This is truly a mystery on how the shipping doesn’t make a lick of sense. My dealership is offering now to sell me the one on the lot for same money. Trying to figure out if I should wait for black or go with the Baltic Gray. I don’t think I want to miss the lower interest rate by waiting it out.

That dealer is then pocketing the 2k that Stellantis has offered for any vehicle in stock. I'm waiting for the vehicle that will be as I ordered.

Interest rates vary no doubt, so try out the financial calculators available on almost every financial institution to see what it means for you and your desired loan amount. You should be able to play around with the interest rate to see what it will mean to you. Helps make that decision more of a fact finding one than FOMO based, at least I believe it helps. Hope it does for you too.

I just looked up and this vehicle just landed and the $2k is for vehicles that have been on the lot for 60 days(according to the “select” vehicle disclaimer)I told the salesperson I wanted to see total figures and that I am also eligible for the conquest since we have a Pilot. I have a great rate but waiting any day for rates to pop up again. I am still leaning on waiting it out but am going to take the real decision maker, the Mrs., to see the color in person to make the final determination pending that the numbers look right.

Thank you for posting. I'm not alone in what I think of Goodyear.

I forgot to mention that the stopping distance with Goodyear shoes, you need to space yourself greater in the distance (length) of the vehicle in front of you than you normally would have. Yesterday, while driving my vehicle in the right lane, the car in front of me decided to stop on the highway, and I couldn't stop in time and steered the car into the entrance lane. I came to a complete stop past the car that had stopped on the highway by an extra car length. I was doing 55mph on a dry road, and my distance from the front of the next vehicle was about, I say, 6 or 7 car lengths. I am not sure if the reason was the brakes or tire; however, I am leaning on the tires as the problem.

Wonder what shoes the factory will install on your vehicle? Sometimes the factory switches different brands of shoes during building.

Dealer said I have the Eagles on mine after running my VIN. They’re going to install my new Pirellis for delivery so thanks for bringing this up!

Side note: brand new set of Goodyear Eagle Tourings available if anyone wants to buy them 😂

Note- Check for date of manufacture and serial number order on those new shoes. It happened to me serval years ago on another vehicle; the shoes were not in serial number order, and the tires were over a year old.
As soon as 1st service gets closer, I'm ordering the Pirellis tires, plus having the dealership do mounting, balance, and install them, and I'm putting them up on eBay.

Paige is going to be so angry in her next update LOL. I’ve been told this over the phone and via chat by so many people. Why not just tell me what I’m asking and move on?

So this dude told me that once I’ve been sitting with the same shipping status for at least 3 weeks I can request some sort of escalation. I’ll be doing that next week. Really excited to see just how much the “escalation” won’t make a difference or make anything move faster. In fact I’m really hoping to hear the folks at Union Pacific literally start laughing out loud when Jeep asks them to ship my car faster, if they even ask at all.

I too reached out to Kate on messenger and she also mentioned my open case. Complete garbage on the lack of customer service and individualized attention that these vehicle owners deserve. Even a purchase at $50k deserves better service levels. I’m sure other brands are experiencing these same poor customer service issues.
