Windshield defect

I have the GW series II and the factory windshield has a manufactured defect. It appears to have two vertical areas that cause distorted viewing at certain angles. I have shown the dealer and they ordered a new windshield but according to them the replacement windshield had the same defect. Apparently Jeep is aware of the problem but I have not received any additional information on a fix. Has anyone else experienced the same problem? If so, is there a solution on the horizon?

IMG_1327.jpgKind of difficult to see in a picture but you can see the distortion of my siding in the background. There are two vertical strips of distortion that run to either side of the rearview mirror from the top of the windshield to the bottom. It is much easier to see if you move your head from side to side. Strange to me that quality control would not have picked up on this defect.

WOW. When you explain it and where to look - its clearly noticeable. Hopeful they find a resolution and get an OEM replacement that is defective-free. Keep us posted.

Wow is right! It's destroyed enough to be a safety hazard.

We are having the same issue with our 2022 Grand Wagoneer. There's another Wagoneer forum that is discussing the issues.

We are having issues with the glass (front windshield) and drivers side glass with waves and distortion. You can see below the photo of how the windshield distorts the view/vision. We contacted our dealership and they are ordering a new windshield however on another forum, everyone that has had a replacement complains it's the same exact issue with the new windshield. Our dealer told us their factory rep admitted it was a problem that has now been fixed but we have not received any updates on when the new windshield will arrive. We are super frustrated! Driving causes headaches and motion sickness. It's awful! IMG_0779.jpg

I'm adding in that we purchased mid December and it was a Grand Wagoneer Series 3. The GW arrived at dealership on November 18.

Has anyone had a similar issue with the driver side mirror? I have similar distortion halfway down, but also a heavy amount of ghosting/double vision.

Ours has a slight imperfection in the windshield but I'm hesitant to have it serviced as the last service caused us to be without the vehicle for 3 weeks... and the Uconnect is still having problems. Sincerely wish I would have purchased an Escalade or Navigator at this price point.

@Randyv - has @WagoneerCxSvc been able to help resolve? I'm waiting to hear the new reviews on the upcoming Escalades - but can tell you the W and GW are far superior to the Navigator..... Check out some of the reviews too. I know its painful - but truly confident that @WagoneerCxSvc is doing due diligence to compete at this level....amid the chaos of this first year roll out and lessons learned.

We just bought a Grand this past weekend.. On the way home we noticed this same thing with ours. It almost makes me car sick, and my wife cant stand it. Hopefully we can get a fix soon. Kinda glad its not just ours that seemed bad.

Kate. Has this issue been fixed yet? And when will new GWs coming off assembly line be free of this defect? I have one on order, but will not take it if it has this problem.

My windshield on my GW III has the same issue. They have sent out a replacment. Hopefully here sooner rather than later.

Hey, Jkrejci. Sadly, I can't really speculate on the Wagoneers coming off the line. What I can say is that we are aware of the concern and have assisted each customer after they reach out to us. If you have this issue upon pick up, we will definitely assist you getting it resolved. Thanks.

We are waiting for our WIII to arrive. With all these problems we are thinking of passing on this vehicle. Way to many problems for a vehicle in this price range. I know my wife will not be happy with the vehicle having so many problems and being in the service bay. She has been driving Tahoe's for 25 years new one every 3 or 4 years. Never have any of her Tahoe been in the shop. Yes oil and filter. But never any problems. Just can't see how they can release these vehicle with these known problems to the buyers. Seems the Jeep does not have much control with the dealers to get these issues taken care of. With the wait times I see from problems people are having with this GW or W is crazy for a high prices unit.
I will talk with my dealer to see what his input is on all these problems.. Seems from reading Wagoneer Client Services has no control once your dealers have to deal with the problems. If your a dealer the last thing you want is a bunch of GW and W taking time and space in your service bays. Will check and see if Nevada has a lemon law.
