With the introduction of its all-new twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter “Hurricane” inline-six-cylinder engines, Stellantis North America (FCA US) looks to continue to offer an alternative to electrification in its larger vehicle offerings in the North American marketplace. This past week, FCA US gave us a brief look at their new dynamic duo of Hurricane or “GME-T6” offerings, with both standard-output (S.O.) and high-output (H.O.) versions being announced.

Bummer, the plugin electric vehicle actually fits my driving needs pretty well. Short trips around town in electric only mode that fit under the 20-25 mile range, and slightly improved gas mileage for long trips in hybrid mode.

I live in a cold environment for winter, so between the 40% reduction in range for battery powered electric vehicles and the lack of charging stations I'm just not currently interested in owning one. I hope Stellantis re-evaluates the market and changes their mind. Or maybe I'm just not typical, who knows?

Don't forget all of the people who live in apartment complexes that don't have power near their parking. That's certainly not helping the electric only market either.

The same applies for me, and my family. I will be using our Wagoneer L Series III for a couple 3k-mile road trips each year, where a BEV version would be impractical.
