I traded in my 2019 Tahoe for a Wagoneer Series II yesterday. Went on a ride today with the family, while driving around I did a u-turn and it felt like it jump out of gear and would not accelerate as it were in neutral. I rolled to the side of the road, the "D" was flashing on the shifter knob, the check engine and battery light was on, and message displayed battery saver mode. I placed it in park, shut it off, restarted it and was able it get it back to the dealer, unfortunately service department was closed.

I see where people are having trouble with batteries being low, but anyone else experienced a problem like this?

Date at Dealership - 01/01/2022 - current

Parts replaced so far,
  • Battery - replaced
  • Body control module - replaced
  • Power pack unit assembly - replaced
  • Etorque Generator - replaced
  • #2 Power pack unit assembly - replaced
  • Power distribution center
*UPDATE* Short version:
First time - transmission in limp mode, cel, low battery voltage, battery light, in the shop from January 1 to February 24

Second time - only made it 18 miles, transmission in limp mode, cel, low battery voltage, battery light, brake light, brakes stopped working, in the shop from February 24 to April 14.

Third time - didn’t make it 20 miles transmission in limp mode, cel, low battery voltage, battery light, brake light, brakes stopped working, in the shop from today April 14.

I haven’t had the exact same thing but close. With hard turns left or right it moans and the tires hop. When moving slow it almost feels like it doesn’t want to engage in gear. I have an appointment with the dealer this week. If I hear anything I’ll respond back. Do you have an app in for yours?

We had the same issue. I happened to have the gauge screen active and watched the battery voltage drop as we drove it. Made it home with 10.1 volts showing and then the vehicle shut down. Started after a short rest and all looked normal. Dealer sent a flatbed to pick it up, they replaced the battery and says everything checks out fine. The very next day the battery voltage started at 14.3 and within 10mins it dropped to 12.9 and stayed there. This is on top of the air suspension system still not working like it should. Dealer wants to wait on the air suspension issue until a few more updates arrive. Our dealer has been wonderful during this and is the only reason we have not lost our minds about this.

Mine doesn't have the air suspension. Unfortunately I was not paying that close of attention when it happened, I was more concerned about getting out of traffic. After I got home and the vehicle sat for about 20 minutes I tested the battery while the vehicle was off and it was reading 12.63 volts, I was so frustrated, I forgot to check voltage after I started it.

Yikes - really sorry you guys had to experience that and glad you’re all okay. Keep us updated with what your dealer says.

Kind of starting to not feel as bad about my Wagoneer not being built just yet; hopefully they’ll get these early, new model issues sorted.

Does this also solve the battery issue the thread speaks about ? This is my 4th jeep Dodge Ram product and so far is hands down the biggest stress in my life right now. Every other FCA vehicle has been fantastic. Regretful more everyday.

@RHarvell - I feel the same way! 15 FCA products. This has been the most stressful. Ten arguments a week in my house related to this vehicle and its operational/mechanical failures.

First the dealer said it was the battery and replaced it, now they are saying it is the battery control module and hope to have it fixed by tomorrow. Already miss my Tahoe.

*edit - struck through some misinformation, but wanted to leave original post

Still waiting on part to come in, the salesman did tell the wrong thing it’s not a battery control module. The manager told me it is some kind of control module under the center console. I’ll wait until I have the service paper in hand to say what the problem is. I know some people come on forums looking for possible solutions and don’t want to put any misinformation out there.

The dealership is not really making this situation any better either.

I spoke with service manager this morning. As before they initially thought it was the battery. Now he is saying it’s the body control module, the vehicle is still throwing codes and they can’t figure out what the problem is. He stated they are going back and forth with the engineers to solve the issues.

I went ahead and opened up a case with Wagoneer Customer Care to see if they can expedite any of this.

Ok. So let’s switch research from a fix .. to which states have which lemon laws. Our dealer actually had the nerve to send me screen shots of a GRAND WAGONEER since our Wagoneer III is still not fixed. Yes of course they consider ours a used vehicle now.

In NC ours is as follows,
  1. A single defect of any kind has been presented to the dealer for repair at least four (4) times and the same problem continues to exist;
  2. The vehicle has been out of service for twenty (20) or more business days during any one year period for a any number of defects; or
  3. Any defect(s) or condition(s) substantially impairs the vehicle's value or safety.
In my opinion number 3 applies, your vehicle stops in middle of the road and won't move, to me that is a defect that substantially impairs the safety of the vehicle, but I am not a lawyer so what so I know.

My dealer has stopped contacting me altogether, unless I initiate the conversation.

Wagoneer Customer Care contacted me to give an update and said that they have ordered a Power pack unit assembly and are waiting for it to come in, but unfortunately it’s on back order.

Side note, on Tuesday the dealer did put us in a 2021 Ford Expedition Max Limited.

Curious if your perception on the ride with the expedition compared to the Wagoneer.
Can't really speak to the ride of the Wagoneer as I only had about 40 miles of seat time, but the Expedition does ride smooth and is a nice vehicle, but saying "Ford" in my house is almost like cussing, lol.

The interior is not quite as luxurious as the Wagoneer and I was really surprised to find out the Expedition does not have a V8 anymore, you can only get the ecoboost V6.

I also had the same problem. But I seem to have more luck when it all comes down to the battery. Dealers just need to replace the battery and everything works normally again. Your problem will probably take longer to solve

Update
Unit still in shop but they found the motor generator is defective and have it on order. They feel this will solve all the issues. Fingers crossed.
