Quick update on our Wagoneer S3 with these issues. Dealer was not able to reproduce the grinding sound in the drive train. It's been 3 weeks at the dealership. They fixed the leak in the sunroof and fixed the broken phone charger compartment door (broken from day 1). We've been approved for buyback however, we're being told that since MSRP on the EXACT same model has increased since November, we may be responsible for the difference in price. Ummm no. Not happening. I'm already at a loss since I've been without the vehicle I've been paying for.

Your service manager WILL and CAN make monthly payments for you. They owe you at least a month's payment.

I had the moaning noise happen again this morning. Not as bad as it has been but still audible and noticeable while driving. I’m posting a few vids I uploaded. Easier to hear on normal speakers rather than a phone because it’s so low. Just want to see if this is what you all are hearing/feeling too. The 2 dealer services I’ve gone to basically refuse to take a look and listen, saying they need their tech to take it out for a drive.

That's it! That's the noise. Ours is still at dealership, and they have so many other issues to resolve they haven't got to that, but we will update with the outcome. Yesterday they called and said it wouldn't shut off! 🤦‍♂️

Posted Reply below by accident instead of as an actual post reply, but yes, that's the noise.

Yes, that's the exact sound. Ours never did the that until we put it in 4low and then back to normal.

It never happens when I bring it in, and ofcourse I’m working today so I can’t bring it while it’s happening 😡. I also have multiple issues on top of that. I’m seriously considering just dumping this, sucking it up and getting the Tahoe I had originally intended to get. I’ve never had this many unresolved issues with a car EVER. And I havnt even got the first oil change yet😡

We did just that yesterday. I sucked it up and bought a new Jeep Gladiator for 32,000 dollars less and luckily my dealer didn’t soak me too much. but it heard today that it developed another bad “clunk” as it drops into 1st gear when stopping. AND..even in park..it lurched forward when starting. nope..no more of this game..we have had Gladiators with way less issues and the two we have now are just perfect for us..and I sleep way better with 35k less debt.

i might add also FWIW that we had quite a bit of snow and i also properly put the vehicle into 4WD LOW to get down our mountain road..and that seems to be what started the growl/moan..after putting it back into “auto”
it seemed like it was driving in 4WD still. Maybe it’s an actuator issue or something that can be fixed with a software update.

I’m hoping it’s something that can be fixed, but I’m seriously leaning toward just bailing on it if this keeps up. The dealership service departments have done absolutely nothing. I loved the vehicle the first 800 miles and now it just gives me anxiety everyday, especially when I’m putting my 8week old and 7 year old in the car and it’s happening. Wagoneer service has definitely tried to be very helpful, and I have a new service ticket in with them, but nothing has been done in regards to the differential issue. The more I drive it the more I wonder if I’m doing damage that, even if corrected, will reduce the life span of the vehicle. I’ve made tons more recordings of the noise on my way home and I hope it’s still doing it tomorrow because Im going straight back to the dealer so they can hear it.

Over the air software update yesterday appears to have fixed our driver side seat heater issue (would turn itself off after 5 min). My wife confirmed the driver side seat heater stayed on after remote start for >30 min until she arrived back home after an errand this am.

Hi, all these seem to have resulted in the new TSB, just posted for Dealers on 26 Feb. See this thread for more info/details.
