Nothing but problems

We've had nothing but problems with our Wagoneer series III.
* The uconnect constantly disconnects from our Android phones.
* The heated seats constantly shut off (the Manual indicates they will remain at temperature until you change it... false). In fact you can't turn the heating elements back on until it decides when it's ready. You have to just keep trying.
* The spring loaded door covering the console where the phone charger is has been broken since we received the vehicle. The dealership says it's on "galactic backorder" so they don't know if we'll ever get it.
* The stop/start never worked from the beginning. We had to bring it in to get it serviced to fix it.
* The air suspension threw a check engine code that had to be cleared.
This is all under 1000 miles. I truly wish we would not have purchased the Jeep Wagoneer. Quality is clearly an issue. I don't recommend it to anyone that asks about it.

Sorry to hear about your issues. I am not quite in the "wish I didn't purchase" corner.. yet, but it has been disappointing to me to have issues on by far the most expensive vehicle I've ever purchased.

If you see my other post, you'll see that I have run into similar issues as you:
- I have had the uconnect disconnects from Android. However, it's hard to say if that's UConnect or Android as I've seen many posts about updates from google routinely breaking Android Auto connectivity.
- I didn't quite nail it down like you have but I also have noticed my heated seats turning off before I would have expected them to. I have not had an issue turning them back on per se but it does seem like the capacitive touch of the controls along the side of the screen is a little hit or miss and if, for example, I don't get enough of my finger in just the right spot, the heated steering wheel won't turn on
- The stop/start stuff for me seems to be more of a threshold on the brake pressure in my Wagoneer where I can consistently get it to do the stop/start IF I push down further/harder on the brake than I need to for stopping.

Hopefully these things get ironed out as I bought this and the warranty intending to keep it for 7-10 years with a lot of mileage.

I seem to be having a little better luck than others but unfortunately my Series III has not been without problems.
*The start/stop has not worked since day one. It threw a check engine code and a critical engine code. This was reset but the function still does not work.
*Apple CarPlay connects and disconnects at random
*The weather app is not responsive.

I came from an 18 GMC yukon denali. The ride and quietness seems superior. It has slightly more room behind the 3rd seat which is nice. On my first 600 mile road trip I had to pull over 2 or 3 times to reset the Apple CarPlay but it always came back. I averaged just over 20mpg which I was please with. Jeep has reached out to me regarding the weather app but after 3 weeks there has been no fix. The fit and finish and mechanics are excellent. All the problems seem to revolve around UConnect.

Ironically, after posting in this forum this morning, I went out later today to find my Wagoneer dead in my garage. When the roadside assistance came and jumped it, a number of warnings appeared and now the touchscreen is non- responsive, the SOS is unavailable, the check engine light is on and some rear warning is on. Ugh! I've left a message for my dealer to tell me how I can get a full refund. This is ridiculous.

For what it's worth, after the battery was replaced in mine on day one, the touch screen was responsive again and things seemed to work a lot better from the Uconnect side of things aside from the Android auto occasional disconnects.

After the battery replacement, the dealer said they did have to reset a lot of warnings and codes but I was told that's not abnormal after a dead battery swap. Haven't had the will to Google if there's any truth to that but he didn't even have to tell me those codes came up so would be strange for him to tell me only to lie about it being normal.

Really hope you get things worked out.

These seem like some common (but minor) issues for a first year vehicle launch.
  1. I too have the heated seat issue. The seats still get hot and hot fast. Which is great! The system does turn them off. My guess is that this is a software issue as it affects both front seats.
  2. The heat seat buttons take a minute, but you actually need to press on the inside edge of the icon. Once you get it, you won’t have any trouble.
  3. Car Play / Android Auto is a common issue with all cars. It happen when you update you phone. If you don’t want to worry about it you can disable wireless and just use the wired CarPlay which will work without issue.
  4. My biggest issue isn’t with the car, it’s the fact that you still get the same lousy Jeep service department. Wagoneer Client Services was very helpful. Strongly recommend you reach out with any issues!

I disagree with the issues being minor considering the price of the vehicle. Sure, it's a first year launch but with a lot of testing. Unfortunately too many things got passed their QC. As a first time Jeep buyer, this doesn't give me the warm and fuzzy. And a dead battery with new check engine lights doesn't help. Disappointing experience.
I'm glad you aren't letting the "minor" issues bother you on your near 100k purchase. Unfortunately, I can't get past these issues. Hopefully, these issues will get resolved for all of us.

Ironically we went by the dealer today to relook at the Wagoneer and the GW they had was locked awaiting the service department because the battery was dead. We looked at the other and after we unlocked it got in and then went to the back, the rear door would not open and the running boards would not retract, yup, battery died.... To be far, these have been sitting on the showroom with everyone climbing in and out without running them to charge the battery. Ours will not sit so I dont believe it will be an issue.

Unfortunately I’m here to say that I too am also experiencing a battery issue. We’ve had our Wagoneer series 3 with the premium group with entertainment screens in the back for three weeks now and the battery has now died three times. We had the car at the dealership to replace a couple of cosmetic issues that came with the car when we purchased it and they are the ones who first notified us of the battery issue. They said they had to fixed the issue but since then the battery has died twice. We will be making a call to client services tomorrow. This is definitely frustrating.

I'm sorry you are having similar issues. Our dealer is picking ours up with a flatbed truck Friday to get it fixed. I don't think they want to drive it because of the error codes currently showing up. We shall see if they get it fixed promptly. I hope your experience gets better.

I couldn’t agree with you more Randyv. With the price of this vehicle approaching 100K potential buyers could have basically any car they desire. The company needs to decide if they are in the economy or luxury car business. I’m having a frustrating but fun time with my wagoneer but will be ready to do some shopping when other brands become more available.

Well #2 delivery occurred today - after the Series III Wagoneer was a bust!

Today Series I Grand delivered. EVERYTHING completed and during walk through/setup - the Apple CarPlay took a shit. Nobody seems to know. UConnect and MOPAR are worthless #'s - "....we'll open a ticket and have someone call you" - #JeepFail!

I refused delivery and made the guy take it back to F'burg dealer and gave them 24 hours to figure it out before I walk away from Jeep Wagoneer entirely! This is insidious for this price point! No ands, ifs, buts!

🤬🤬🤬

I bought an Obsidian Grand Wagoneer at the end of December '21. It has been in and out of the shop for over 19 days. I had a problem with the seat massager, 2nd-row heated seats, window not going back up, It was delivered with an electrical problem that I believe the dealership either knew or should have known. I realized it after having it for several hours and trying to program several things. When I took it to my local dealership - they immediately recognized the problem but had no fix. It is fixed today - but I worry that there are going to be other electrical problems as I go forward. I agree with everyone - that at this price point - it should have been delivered working. I have asked about trading it in for one that does not have any problems - but it sounds from this thread - that is not possible.

Much is dependent upon your State Lemon Laws, plus how many times you have it in for service, etc. Sometimes vehicles are addressed with a swap, it also depends on the types of issues, etc. and if a WCS rep has enough data to help with Stellantis corporate and working it with the Dealership as well.

Spot on regarding the lemon laws in your state. Ours was approved for a buyback/replacement. We were going to switch brands but decided on replacement. The dealer is currently searching for a VIN matching our options and recent build. As a side note, ours has been in the shop for a combined total of over 7 weeks... or 8 (have to look at my notes)
