Hello all I just joined and was hoping to find a threat about the exterior such as this. I would love to choose between River Rock and Midnight Sky but of course none are out in the dealers to look at and the website makes it difficult. Any insight as far as the difference? I am assuming the Midnight Sky is a dark-near-black color?

The colors are ridiculous if you ask me. Basically, pick your shade of gray. Do you want light gray (Silver-Zynith), dark gray (Baltic-Gray), dark gray with a hint of blue (River Rock), dark gray with a hint of green (Rocky Mountain), dark gray with a hint of red (Ember Pearly) or just full on black? Too boring? Don't worry, there's also 2 shades of white for those adventurous folk. SMH!

In any event, from the pictures, River Rock appears to be mostly dark gray with a hint of blue. I have a Gladiator in Sting Gray (gray with a tiny hint of blue or green, depending on how you look at it) and I'm thinking it's somewhat along the same lines as that. Midnight Sky looks like an extremely dark bluish-purple - looks sharp.

I'm currently trying to order a Wagoneer (non-Grand) in River Rock (Midnight Sky is exclusive to Grand Wagoneers) and so far two dealers have told me River Rock is unavailable and not in their computer system - they have no further info or availability dates. Kind of messed up that the Jeep website and all literature implies it's available but they are not.

We wanted River Rock but it does not show as available as of yesterdays 11/05 order.... Sad that they show it but then make it non-available

I don't see my Red Peral.
Detroit may have substituted another red --- OK, maybe all by MOPAR cars cannot be the same color.

I'm in the same boat, trying to order a GW SIII in River Rock but the dealer is saying it isn't an option on their system. Waiting to hear back when blue is finally available for me to order.

edit: is not having certain colors part of the luxury buying experience? :p
Interesting. I ordered Midnight sky at the beginning of November with no issue…

Is midnight sky kind of blueish? On the website they all look the same to me. Wish I could see River Rock next to Midnight Sky in person.

Midnight sky is the one that’s in the original promos. A dark blue. River rock is lighter. I couldn’t see a difference on my iPad but on my 4k computer monitor you can see it better.

Midnight Sky some owners already have, a very dark navy blue. River Rock waiting to see.

I'm pondering planning a Wag Series III upgrade to a Grand Wag, but have Baltic Gray & Sea Salt now, and love it, but now there's more choices...

I ordered a River Rock GWS3 a few weeks ago (mentioned it in another thread). I hope I like the color, I wanted some better blue options, we'll see if River Rock does the trick.

I have looked far and wide, and I can find no pictures of a river rock GW on youtube, facebook, or the forums. And the single picture on the jeep website is terrible, half the time I have to squint even in 4k to see the blue. Guess the worst that can happen is I take delivery and immediately buy a wrap for it lol. I have been eyeing a prismatic wrap, but that might look odd on a luxury SUV.

edit: Example of what I'm talking about
When I was a kid in the 80s I loved those metallic prism stickers, I think that's why I think this wrap looks so cool. If I did go with a holographic wrap I'd do one with a darker base color, no where near as shiny as the chrome one I linked above. I've seen a few gray and blue ones with the prismatic color on top that looked good too. Not as flashy.

River Rock is a Blue/Green color. A freeze frame on a video is how I got to see it. Videos are also how I realize the Midnight Sky wasn't as black as the Wagoneer site shows (agree, not a great color match on that site). It isn't that close to black, it is more like Navy or Royal Blue. Bummer we have to find videos from both Car reviews or Dealership ads to get the colors since almost everything in stock are Black, White, some Gray and a few rare Velvet Red.
