Hi! Just got Series 1 Grand Wagoneer. I have CONCERNS:(

Hi All, Just took delivery of my Series 1 Grand. We received it with 1500 miles on it because it was out on a service loan from another GW owner (this was disclosed). In the 200 miles I have driven it, we have experienced screen blackouts. I have read lots of reports about battery and AWD issues and I am very concerned that I may have purchased a 100,000 dollar lemon. Can anyone talk me off the ledge here?
Thanks and glad to be part of the forum,
Wayne

The 4x4 issues are mainly for the wagoneer and the latest tsb seems to have fixed most. Vehicle definitely has its issues, most of which are with the entertainment.

Some had bad batteries, some had bad windshields. Mine has a build date of February, I purchased it 3 weeks ago, I haven't had any of these issues. I've had condensate in a rear light housing and some body part alignment issues, but dealer is responsive.

Hi Whartmann, welcome to the forum!

I hope we can help get your GWI on the path toward a quick recovery. :)

First, you should have received the Wagoneer Client Services (WCS) briefing and commitments from your Dealership. The Services can be viewed here: https://www.jeep.com/wagoneer/client-services.html . There is a place to sign up for the Services in the middle of the first page on that website. Additionally you can call Wagoneer Client Services at 833-667-4825. You'll need to have your VIN so they know which vehicle you have and can help with the specifics of your GWI.

Second, this forum is monitored by WCS, and when we see someone needs help that is new, we also try to remember to tag WCS using their forum account at @WagoneerCxSvc . They will ask you to DM them, so if you are familiar with how to start a Conversation (DM), you can do that as well.

Third, a lot of TSBs and CSBs were released by Stellantis on this first year vehicle. The latest was 25 February. We have a few members who've discovered the Dealerships are checking all of them and ensuring vehicles on the lots are being maintained. Expense, challenging to do, whatever the reason, it seems to be happening. Give them an opportunity to fix that by calling the Service Department and request help. If you've read the WCS Commitment page, you'll see a lot of things you are entitled to have while needing Service. That's one reason I mentioned it first. ;)

The items you mention have been resolved via the TSBs and CSBs, including two fixes for the AWD item as it can stem from a couple of issues. If the SW updates for it don't fix it we've seen members also need parts because of extended use while experiencing the growling symptom. We are sharing the experiences here and watching for repeat issues, hopefully the release on 26 Feb took care of the different causes, time will tell. We prefer to be "Show Me" people.

Let us know how it is going along the way. Others have additional insights they can share, or have already shared on this forum. We realize it is a first year vehicle, it has defects even though it's in the Lux category. We also see Stellantis really stepping up to help, sometimes the Dealership causes a sluggish response but using the WCS, Stellantis and Dealership mix you should be able to get the vehicle you wanted when you bought it. Hang in there!!!

We ordered our GW Series II with towing package in September and just picked it up February 26. There seemed to be a delay from the expected build date to the ship date so I am hoping that delay was used to update computer programs and correct known build issues. We took it on a 6.5 hour each leg trip last weekend and so far no problems. The computer screen did shut down once, but rebooted itself without incident and has not repeated yet. Had me freaking at the time, though.
Really a great vehicle on the road and a big improvement over our 2011 Denali. Great Handling, quiet ride, excellent Navigation system and headlights at night are amazingly bright. I never used to use cruise control because I was always having to turn it off and on. The adaptive cruise is a game changer! You select the following distance you like and rarely have to disable it.

Thank you for the detailed response. I do understand that new builds often come with a laundry list of updates and I would certainly prefer these problems reveal themselves early on. Not driving the car any further if the AWD malfunctions is good advice. Many of the owners have done exactly the opposite and rebooted the car so they could continue to drive.

Good to know! We really like the headlights too. We traded up to the GW from a 13 Denali. I have not yet played with the adaptive cruise, but I am excited to try it. LOVE the massaging seats too.

You're welcome, glad to be of assistance.

I get the reboot, problem is the metal/metal grinding and what I've seen is the ones who keep driving end up needing a drivetrain module swap, which is a multi-month delay. Could be worse if this latest round of factory shutdowns hitting South East Asia factories and ports is in the supply chain for that device.

Enjoy the ride, and as mentioned, super Kate is already all over it. She's been fantastic in helping forum members, know you'll have things straightened out in no time flat.

My vehicle just hit the 'shipping' stage, so I hope to see it soon. I'll do the walk through list we have posted on this forum at the Dealership when I go to pick it up. They already know I'm a bit different in the buying process so I'm sure they are expecting me (and I'm making sure the salesman knows) to have a thorough walkthrough at delivery time. ;) I'm sure there will be a few items to find in the first few months. I've already mapped out my 100 mile@35mph trip, next is the 1k @under 55 to lay out. Then, zoom, I'll be driving and making work calls while driving, every day if I can! 🤣

Keep us informed as you continue your early driving fun!
