We are done! Cut bait while we could and took a 7,000.00 upside down bath. Got a nice new Jeep Gladiator for 32k less debt and nearly 325.00 less a month. Dealer was great about it. but I’m not getting any warm fuzzies here. same groaning and binding and we were stuck in Florida. They said they couldn’t duplicate it, and my vin was not on “the list” so they sent me on my way. We drove back to NC and traded. Got word today that the rear seal was also leaking, and it might have been “stuck” in 4WD while in “auto” and there is some kind of software update that “might” address this issue.. Nobody there had ever worked on one..I’ll miss the comfy ride but I’m way better without a 91,000 debt for a CAR that might be plagued with problems..for a long time. Thank you for all the help here..and good luck!

Dang Jeff - that's unfortunate. Best of luck with your Gladiator.

not trying to cause trouble here, but head over to the tahoeyukon forum. The 1st model year 2021 Escalade, Tahoe, and Yukons had a ton of issues including the lifter problem. I know, because I traded in a 2021 Tahoe for my Wagoneer. It took a few months to get everything sorted out with those. I also had about 6-7 recalls in 1 1/2 years of ownership Many people got buybacks or new vehicles early on and had the same problems as it takes some time to get root cause and change the manufacturing process / launch new code. In my case GM gave me $2500 accessory credit to purchase the performance intake and exhaust.

2022 Wagoneer Series II 4wd

Short version, on 01/01 performed U-turn something popped, the vehicle felt like it jumped out of gear and would not accelerate. I rolled to the side of the road, the “D” on the shifter knob was blinking, the check engine and battery indicator lights were on, and a message “Battery Saver On Some Systems may have Reduced Power” was displayed on screen. I tried shifting in to into park, reverse, and drive again the vehicle would not go into gear or move, I placed the vehicle in park and shut the vehicle off and back on again, the shifter knob indicators were no longer blinking, placed it in drive and was able to drive home. Been at the dealership ever since.

Parts replaced so far,
  • Battery - replaced
  • Body control module - replaced
  • Power pack unit assembly - replaced
  • Etorque Generator - No ETA

Not sure, any way to determine other the looking at the vehicle certification label, I don't have access to my vehicle.
Ok, after some research I see it is on the window sticker, mine shows 12/04.

Back to dealer tomorrow.
When going in reverse, I'm back to having drivetrain issues that make you feel like you are stuck in 4L again. Tried cycling the 4WD system - but alas, NOPE.
@WagoneerCxSvc - this is really trying my patience.

Interesting, just today I had an odd experience in going in reverse. Backing up an inclined drive with ice. It slipped a little then when fine but when I engaged the brake to stop, it stopped hard. I got out and it smelled like something really hot. Very odd.

So here's the update. The car was in the shop for a week. Not sure if I understand this correctly, but looks like my issue wasn't related to the software update (?) and instead they had to reset the DTCM and perform a driving relearn. Does anyone know what this means? View attachment 504
Unfortunatley back to having the same issue again. For two weeks how WSII was driving fine and then over the weekend we started to get the binding and the noise from the rear driveline. Sounds like whatever the DTCM Reset and Drive Relearn was meant to accomplish only worked temporarily. I guess a simple "reboot" isn't going to solve this software issue. Back to the shop tomorrow for round two. This is starting to get very frustrating and disheartening. I can look past the carplay being wonky and most of the uconnect being glitchy, but core components and software can't be this off on a car at this price. Crossing my fingers we didn't end up with a lemon.

So 2k miles and starting to have the front end issues when turning the wheel sharply in forward and reverse. Skipping, not wanting to move without a bit more gas, etc…. I used to have this in my old v8 GC back in the day. Somebody said it before feels like 4 wheel high is engaged even though we don’t have 4 wheel high.
In my head now I feel like the whole front is sluggish and making noise even when going straight or making small turns.

no 4wd error, but drove it hard through 5 hours of heavy snow this weekend.

I have a very similar issue. My Dealer though, was unable to replicate it and there were no codes being triggered so they didn't apply the update per the recent drivetrain TSB. They said they won't get paid if they perform undiagnosed work. In a Wagoneer facebook group someone is having the same issue with the rear end. They posted a picture where the rear inside wheel chirped and left black treads on their pavement while turning. This is a total mess. This vehicle was NOT ready to be released... the programing is terrible.

Made a slight right turn and it felt like it jumped out of gear, "D" flashing on shifter knob and dash, no battery light this time and voltage was around 14.4v. I shut off the vehicle, restarted and was able to pull into a parking lot. I performed a left u-turned to exit the parking lot and it did it again, same symptoms but this time battery light came on, voltage dropped to 11.6v, the "Service Antilock Brake System" displayed on the dash and the brakes did not work, the pedal went straight to the floor, a "4WD System Temporarily Unavailable" was displayed on dash, and the shift knob was locked in position and would not turn into any other gear. I shut the vehicle off and then it could shift park, restarted and drove back to the dealership.

How did you get them to agree to buy it back. They declined my claim despite all the repeat problems.

To help you, could you be specific on who 'they' are, was it the Dealership or Stellantis via the Wagoneer Client Services team? It is good to know who's saying yes/no. Others here can help you a bit better once that's known.

It was Stellantis directly via client services team.

Now there is a new check engine code that Stelantis have not seen before. Causes the etorq motor to stop working as well the radio display to flicker on and off.

I'll submit the request again maybe this time around with the new information it will help.

Any other suggestions I am open to it.

Buyback/replacement is based on your states lemon law. Ours met the criteria. We are on the process of searching for a vin that matches what we want or we'll request to have one built.
