Does anyone regret purchasing the grand wagoneer ?

My husband and I are considering purchasing a GW but after reading some of these threads I am a bit nervous. We have gone back and forth between an SUV and a truck (we need something that tows) and we’ve decided on either this or an Escalade. I am more more drawn to the GW and it does have a higher tow rating but again, we’re nervous considering how many issues people are saying they’re having. What are your opinions? Was it worth it? Do you love it? What would you change (if anything?). Thanks everyone!

While I don’t have a GW (only the Wagoneer) I will say this, the Escalades are having issues as well. I don’t for a second regret the purchase, and did so fully understanding a first MY vehicle may have some issues that require fixing.

I wanted to clarify, have the issues with the shifting and battery draining been only with the Wagoneer or are they with the Grand Wagoneer too.

Also our Grand Wagoneer Series 2 was just built so have they been able to remedy some of the build issues and software glitches in the early production vehicles.

All the TSBs up to a few days before your build should be in the vehicle. I'm seeing less and less issues posted on the vehicles built just recently. A few of us are looking for delivery in the next month, our builds are to happen in the next week or two (hope I didn't just jinx it!). Second half builds of a first year vehicle are typically better off, fewer issues. It is always a balance, do you want the latest vehicle so bad you just have to be first in your neighborhood (so you get issues), or can you wait a bit, watch forums and then purchase.

First to buy a first year vehicle, regardless of brand, first 'Field Testers' for the manufacturer.

They still don’t seem to be building them fast enough. Maybe they put things on hold until things settle down.

They are having part shortages. It doesn't seem like they are having a ton of issues in the grand scheme, especially if this forum is an indication.

I don't regret purchasing my GW III. I have had two Escalades and for now this GW III beats them from a technology, performance and towing perspective. I do think the Escalade looks a tab it sportier, but not enough to out weigh all the other positives. Pluss you get free oil changes and tire rotations, that are not offered on other luxury SUV models.

Mine was in the shop for a week after getting it, been fine since knock on wood minus some tech quirks, but overall I still love it. Hope it holds up and they work out the bugs.

Wife had hers for a week, and now it's in the show. She's in my GC, and I'm relegated to the Wrangler (fortunately, we are a three Jeep family). If we wind up with a solid stream of problems, she might regret it, but right now, in her short time with it, she loves it. Nice tech. Very comfortable. A lot to like.

I actually liked my Yukon Denali a lot more. It felt higher up, I liked how it buzzed you to let you know where objects or cars, people were and not the loud beeping. I’ve barely driven it and it’s been 3 months. My husband loves it but it’s not my thing.

I have not had many of the issues others have described. But my check engine light kept coming on within the first month of driving. I had it back at the dealer twice and called Wagoneer Client Services (they weren’t very helpful). I was told it was a computer issue. Now, at about 1800 miles, the air suspension is not working properly. It will not go above the “aero” mode and if it is lowered to entry/exit level, I have to shut the car off and restart it to get it to go back up. It’s going back to the dealership for the third time since buying it to try to fix the issue. I wouldn’t say I regret my purchase yet, but I’m getting there.
