activate services

The first app listed in my apps tab is "activate services". Every time I try to activate, I get an error message. Does anyone know what services this icon activates? I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the fact I can't get live traffic or weather. Thanks

I spoke with wagoneer services and they said as long as you do it on the app you’re all set…..but why won’t it work on the car? Lots of frustrating things with uconnect

ACTIVATION
You will need to be registered at the dealership to
begin using the full potential of Uconnect Connected Services. Your sales consultant will register you and help you set up your Uconnect Connected Services account and information.
Once you are registered or if you were not registered at the dealership, you will be able to activate Uconnect Connected Services through your touchscreen. To begin, in Apps Mode, press the Activate Services button. Follow these steps to complete activation:
  1. Press the Activate button. If you would like to more about Uconnect Connected Services, press “Learn More”. You will be able to activate your services from this page as well.
  2. Enter your information (first and last name and a valid email address) on the following page. Press “Continue” when ready.
  3. The system will ask you to confirm the information enter. If it is correct, press “Continue”. If you need to change it, press “Edit”.
will check if the email is present within the Uconnect Connected Services system. If the email is already registered, you will be directed to the “Account Terms” screen. If the entered email is not in the system or a PIN has not been established, the system will require the creation of a 4-digit PIN.
5. Press “Accept” on the Accept Terms screen.
6. An email will be sent to the provided email address. Check your email and follow the steps for finishing registering/activating your Uconnect Services Account.
NOTE:
During the setup, the Call Care button can be pressed to speak direct to an agent. They will be able to assist in the setup of your Uconnect Services Account.

Is that mandatory to get UConnect working or can it be activated via the WCS or MOPAR Wagoneer services online?
I tried calling the Wagoneer services line initially from in the vehicle, they directed me to the app. The dealer wasn't very interested in walking through the steps with me. "Our wifi is really slow, so it might take a really long time". Setting it up through the app is easy, however I am not sure how useful it actually is or when it will actually sync

Interesting they did that, I've seen a lot of new names at WCS online now, I think they are hiring as fast as they can and maybe the onboarding/training isn't quite up to par yet. It seems the Rosetta Stone for having any negatives turn positive is a great Dealership. I had the fortune of being able to shop for a dealership, looked up all the different ones in the area (10+), chose three to work with and the first/top of my list got my business and I'm hoping the reputation is true. If not, the competitors are ready to get the Warranty cash and repeat business. ;)

Let us know your thoughts on it after a few weeks. It seems like you can customize your primary screen in the center to have a home page that is what you want to use most.
