1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Hello Everyone. I recently purchased a 1987 Jeep Grand "Swagoneer" and I am in love with it. I live on the Outer Banks and I have wanted a beach vehicle for a long time so I traded in my Camry and bought this beast. I am by no means a "car guy" but I am hoping to have this Jeep be my first step into learning more about cars in general. The Jeep is in pretty solid shape considering how old it is and the deal I got on it. It for sure needs some TLC and some what I am hoping are minor fixes/updates. Rear window door issues, radio/antenna issues, a few minor rust areas, etc. I apologize in advance for any really dumb questions I may post in here but I am really excited and also pretty clueless. I have a new antenna and mast, gear shift indicator, and two door handle replacements coming by the end of the week. Can't wait to take this thing out on the beach ASAP. Any advice for a new owner would be much appreciated. Thank You!

Congrats, I have a 1991 and I just love the original waggy.
If your car spent time in the Northeast be sure to use some lubricant before opening any old bolts or nuts and not force. Penetrating oil and waiting a couple of hours will save you days of work.
Rear hatch window is tricky, get a buddy to help if it is electrical it is probably either the switch or the motor, or some wire issue on the way...

Best sources for parts:
Between those two you can get all the parts that are still available in a reasonable manner.

Dear All, just got my dream car: 1991 GW. Lot of things to do, get most parts from the US. Want to get the seats done, leather and corderoy no problem, but the carpet like
material on the back of the seats I cannot find here in Germany and have no idea where to source in the US. Can anybody help? Think Chrysler called it MESA CLOTH, but that did not help me either......Peter
