I’m not getting any younger, which is the reason I’m so intrigued by the droprack system. The idea of being able to put pretty much anything on the roof without killing myself is persuasive, and you can’t use droprack without a GOBI rack (well, you could, but wouldn’t be able to carry much)...
And maybe pair it with this….

Increases driving weight to 300 (over the 150lbs for standard cross bars) and static to 800 lbs. I love that the tailgate remains useful. 😍😍 Merry xmas to me?
Just changed mine again. Didnt get a warning until 12,250. Naturally, on the the way back of a 500 mile road trip (which is better than on the way up!)
Lol-sorry, it’s been a crazy week. It came out amazing. Caliber did a great job. Looks brand new. Sensors work perfectly. They also detailed the whole vehicle. I’m very happy, and the work is warrantied as long as I own the car.
I havent. Its getting cooler-ish (read below 92 lol) most days down here so it hasn’t been as big an issue. Im hoping to see some mods popping up here and there soon. Fingers crossed.
finally got it to the shop 10/10. They should have the final parts this week And im hoping to get it back Friday, but realistically probably Monday. The estimate doesn’t include any sensors, but they did say they found more damage when they actually removed the bumper last Monday. So we’ll see...
I don’t see any rust. The paint looks good so far around the window.
I had contemplated removing all the crime and doing chrome black paint instead of a wrap delete. The fact that none of it is clipped in (apparently) makes that less appealing now….
And then, just like that, the passenger rear chrome came off. 😳 Shocked to see its basically just glued on. No clips.
Thankfully saw it flapping in the breeze on a side road, before I got to the highway.
Poor Bessie got rear ended by a Kia today. The girl that hit us was probably doing about 30, and naturally on her phone. No air bags deployed, but I am feeling it in my shoulders and back.
For as hard as she hit us, there seems to be relatively little damage. Looks like the tow hitch took the...
No issue so far. If necessary, the horn can easily be removed and rinsed. They are on the frame rail so I’m not too worried about going over larger rock. It’s going to hit the rail before the horn. I’ve been through some FL flood waters and zero problems so far.
So you can see the mounting plate was manufactured from diamond plate. I’ve been running this for about a month ? And beyond the heat issue with the compressor it’s been great. Very happy with the setup. (But beware, they didn’t properly coat and/or use stainless, parts on the undercarriage...
Yes, I have the towing package. The trailering controls are on the right lower side of the dash, similar placement to the parking break (and now my air compressor) controls.
so.much.space. Even underneath.
I’ll climb under and take some pics of where we installed the air horns and the tank.
We pulled the cover off the front of the engine compartment last night (way easier than it looks, a trim remover tool into the slot on the button, then just pop it out. Couple of open ended slides on the front and one each on the side)
Took some pictures, looks like there is a ton of space to...
Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking too. I haven’t seen any shops in mid/south (excluding Miami-because I ain’t got Oprah $) FL I would trust with it.
I’m a little tempted to pull the grill and see if I can add a fan. Otherwise I’m either pulling it until Hell+ temps back down or just keeping it off.
