Steering wheel controls not working

Ditto Dahammer's comment, sounds like some intern was given the chance to try a fix, spun the wheel on the wall and threw a dart.

It's been too long since I ripped a steering wheel off the shaft, what type of connectors are they using for the wiring harness to it these days? it's all electrical steering so with the spin of the wheel it has to have some type of system to allow rotation. Makes sense the buttons are going to be the outer wiring connectors so they would go before the primary used for steering. Hum... I should apply for the Intern's job, I can find this stuff on www.pulleditoutmybehind.com any day. 😏
I think Service must have an electrical trouble flow chart for the GW/W in the service manual. If this part doesn't work, start here and get your test meter. If it looks good, go to the next bubble on the flow chart, test, and so on.

:unsure:Short cut - take a tester, open the steering column, find the components and start the vehicle up. Check to see if electricity is available at the end of each part. If there is, then the part is NFG.
If not, then there is an open somewhere in the feed. Then find out why this is happening.:coffee::unsure:

www.pulleditoutmybehind.com.....🍑🪠📄 Hahahaha...Just don't sit on a milk crate and read cause you will have a Waffle 🧇Butt🍑 in the end...:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Hi @coolerbythelake, any update on this during the past week?
You beat me to the punch! Yes, I just got it back. They had it for 15 days. I gotta give props to the dealer, they did an awesome job. The replacement steering wheel controls didn’t fix the issue so a Jeep engineer had to step in. The engineer then stopped returning calls in the middle of this so the dealer got fed up and just started ordering things. The steering control module ended up fixing the issue. They then had to replace trim panels around the steering wheel.

While the wait sucked, I got my loaner Wagoneer and the dealer was absolutely top-notch (my phone autocorrected “top-notch” to “top-bitch” initially; this also works 😂😂). While we were all like WTF engineer, the dealer and Jeep expedited parts and kept me in the loop the entire time. They then delivered my Grand Wagoneer back to me on a car carrier so they didn’t put any miles on it driving it over - completely unnecessary and yet very appreciated. And I knew that if any of this went south at any point I could’ve called WCS and unleashed Paige on their asses. I’ll happily be taking their survey when it comes, they earned their 10s. It was a great experience.

Now THAT is what we've all been expecting from the Wagoneer Commitment, fantastic! Extremely glad your ride is back now.

Sounds like the Dealer had never hit this nor anyone in the Region so just it sounds more like a corner case situation than prevalent issue we should all watch for on our rides. Again though, I just have to marvel at the Dealer doing that, after all we've "heard" on this forum and others online. Yeah!!! 🥳

BOOM, A home run!
Happy to hear it's all good now, and your dealership service department was top-notch.
Happy motoring, Cooler!
